Retraction and Correction
Al-Majaalis: Jurnal Dirasat Islamiyah understands that authors have worked diligently in preparing their manuscripts and that the editorial board has conducted a thorough review process. However, in certain circumstances, an article may need to be retracted or removed for scientific reasons. Such actions are taken only under urgent conditions. Corrections and clarifications, if necessary, will be carried out with strict standards to maintain the credibility of scientific publication. Al-Majaalis is committed to preserving the integrity of scientific publications and serves as an archive of researchers’ work.
Article Retraction
Al-Majaalis: Jurnal Dirasat Islamiyah is committed to maintaining the integrity of scientific publications. Therefore, on occasion, an article may need to be retracted. An article can be retracted if:
- There is a significant scientific error that invalidates the article’s conclusions. For example, there is clear evidence that the findings are not valid, whether due to intentional misconduct (such as data fabrication) or unintentional mistakes (such as miscalculations or experimental errors).
- There is an ethical violation, such as plagiarism (appropriation of ideas, processes, results, or words of others without proper attribution) or improper authorship.
- The article is clearly defamatory, infringes on the legal rights of others, or poses a serious legal risk.
- The article has been published elsewhere (duplicate publication).
The decision to retract an article will be communicated to the author(s) and relevant parties. Holding the copyright does not automatically give the author the right to retract the article after publication. For retracted articles, the metadata (such as title and author information) will be retained, but the content will be replaced with a notice stating that the article has been removed for specific reasons.
Article Correction
Al-Majaalis: Jurnal Dirasat Islamiyah will make corrections to articles if:
- There is defective or misleading data, especially if the error was unintentional.
- There is an error in the authorship list (for example, a contributing author was omitted, or an unqualified author was included).
Corrections are categorized as follows:
- Erratum: A correction by the publisher to inform readers about errors made by the journal team (usually production errors) that negatively affect the scientific integrity of the article or the author’s reputation.
- Corrigendum: A correction by the author(s) to inform readers about errors made by the authors that negatively affect the scientific integrity of the article or the reputation of the journal.
- Addendum: An addition to the article by the author(s) to clarify inconsistencies, expand, explain, or update information in the article.
Corrections will be communicated to the author(s) and relevant parties. The final decision regarding whether a correction is needed rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
