Peer Review Process

Peer Review Policy – Al-Majaalis: Jurnal Dirasat Islamiyah

Al-Majaalis: Jurnal Dirasat Islamiyah applies a single-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of all published manuscripts. The review process consists of the following stages:

1. Article Submission

Authors must submit their manuscripts through the Open Journal System (OJS), along with the following documents:

  • The manuscript file (in Microsoft Word format)
  • A signed Copyright Transfer Agreement (PDF)
  • A signed Publishing Ethics Statement (PDF)
  • A Turnitin similarity report (conducted by the author), with a maximum similarity score of 20%

All documents must be submitted at the time of submission. Incomplete submissions will be rejected before entering the review process.

2. Editorial Assessment

The editorial team evaluates the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with the journal’s template, content quality, data validity, and reference completeness. All submission documents, including the Turnitin report, are also verified at this stage.

3. Chief Editor’s Evaluation

The Chief Editor reviews the initial assessment and decides whether the manuscript is suitable for peer review or should be rejected without further consideration.

4. Reviewer Assignment

The editorial office assigns reviewers based on their expertise. The review process is single-blind, meaning the reviewers remain anonymous to the author.

5. Peer Review

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript and provide feedback, including comments, suggestions, and a recommendation (accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject).

6. Editorial Decision Based on Review

The reviewers’ feedback is forwarded to the Chief Editor, who makes the final decision. If revisions are required, the feedback is shared with the author via the OJS system.

7. Turnitin Verification by Editorial Team

Once the revised manuscript is submitted, the editorial team will conduct a final Turnitin check to ensure the similarity score remains within the acceptable limit (maximum 20%). If the score exceeds the limit, the manuscript will be returned to the author for further revision.

8. Finalization and Publication

Manuscripts that pass all checks and meet the required standards will be published online through the Al-Majaalis OJS platform.
