Al-Majaalis: Journal of Islamic Studies

Al-Majaalis is a peer-reviewed journal of Islamic Studies published by Sekolah Tinggi Dirasat Islamiyah (STDI) Imam Syafi’i Jember, Indonesia. The journal was initially issued in print, focusing on four primary Islamic disciplines: Fiqh, Hadith, Aqeedah, and Qur’anic Studies.

Al-Majaalis publishes scholarly works contributed by academics and lecturers. The journal accepts both conceptual articles and research-based manuscripts—whether fieldwork or library research—within the scope of Islamic sciences mentioned above.

All submissions must be original and have not been previously published in any printed or online media. Preferred submissions are research-based papers.

Manuscript Formatting Guidelines

  • Use Microsoft Word, A4 paper size

  • Font: Times New Arabic, size 12, 1.5 spacing

  • Length: 15–25 pages

  • If written in Arabic, use Sakkal Majalla, size 14, 1.5 spacing

Article Structure

  1. Title: Concise, clear, and reflects the research substance

  2. Author Information: Full name, institutional affiliation (home base), and email address

  3. Abstracts: In both English and Bahasa Indonesia, each between 200–250 words

  4. Keywords: 3–6 keywords

Main Sections

A. Introduction

Includes background, research problems, objectives, methodology, and literature review.

  • Research Methodology: Outlines research approach, type, data sources, data collection techniques, and analysis procedures

  • Literature Review: Discusses prior studies related to the research focus

B. Discussion

Structured in sub-sections as needed. Data must be presented narratively and systematically, leading to analysis and findings based on the author's theoretical framework.

C. Conclusion

Presents answers to the research problems formulated earlier.

References

Lists all sources cited in the article. Use Turabian 8th Edition (full note, no ibid) citation style. Reference managers such as Mendeley or Zotero are strongly recommended.
