Al-Majaalis: Journal of Islamic Studies (P-ISSN: 2339-2630 | E-ISSN: 2477-8001) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published biannually—in May and November—by Sekolah Tinggi Dirasat Islamiyah (STDI) Imam Syafi’i Jember, Indonesia. Established in 2013 and publishing its digital edition since 2015, Al-Majaalis is committed to advancing Islamic scholarship and bridging classical Islamic intellectual heritage with contemporary discourse.
This journal focuses on four main areas: Fiqh, Hadith, Aqidah, and Qur’anic Studies. Starting from Volume 13 Issue 1, all articles in Al-Majaalis are published in English to enhance global academic visibility. All submissions must follow the journal template using footnote citation style based on Turabian 8th edition (full note, no ibid) or Turabian 9th edition (notes and bibliography). Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or similar applications. All submitted manuscripts undergo a single-blind peer review process conducted by experts in the relevant fields, considering alignment with the journal’s focus and scope, publication ethics, originality (novelty), and absence of plagiarism.
All articles published in Al-Majaalis are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure permanent global accessibility. The journal is indexed in several reputable databases, including Garuda, Google Scholar, Crossref, Moraref, ISDJ, Dimensions, Index Copernicus, and others. Based on the Decree of the Director General of Research and Development Number 2/C/C3/KPT/2026 dated January 2, 2026, Al-Majaalis: Journal of Islamic Studies has successfully achieved national reaccreditation at SINTA 2 level as a recognition of its quality and consistency in journal management. The journal also maintains academic collaboration with the Indonesian Association of Hadith Studies (ASILHA), a scholarly association in the field of Hadith.
Al-Majaalis: Journal of Islamic Studies implements a formal policy regarding the use of generative AI technologies. Authors may utilize AI tools—such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and others—only as supporting instruments under full human supervision. Any use of generative AI must be properly disclosed in the manuscript. AI tools cannot be listed as authors and must not be used to generate original scholarly work independently. Full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the content remains with the authors. Editors may use AI tools for limited technical purposes such as language editing or summarization without altering the substance of the work.
We invite academics, researchers, and practitioners to submit their scholarly articles to Al-Majaalis: Journal of Islamic Studies. All submissions must be original, not under consideration by other journals, and prepared in accordance with the journal’s author guidelines. Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, or RTF format. Submissions that do not comply with the requirements may be returned to the authors for revision.
