دراسة وتخريج حديث رقم 1696 من كتاب المستدرك للحاكم النسيابوري
Keywords:
Yemeni Corner, Thawaf, Al-MustadrakAbstract
Touching the Hajar Aswad and the Yemeni Corner is regarded as a sunnah practice in tawaf as performed by the Prophet ﷺ, as indicated by hadiths and reports found in the books of Sunan. However, al Mustadrak ala al Sahihain by Abu Abdillah al Hakim records a narration stating that the Prophet kissed the Yemeni Corner and placed his cheek upon it. This study aims to present a descriptive takhrij of the hadith in the Book of Manasik number 1696 in order to identify other transmitters besides al Hakim, assess its level of authenticity, and explain its juristic implications regarding the ruling on kissing the Yemeni Corner during tawaf. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method by outlining the chains of transmission, describing the narrators in terms of integrity and precision, assessing the continuity of the chain, and identifying irregularities and hidden defects based on the principles of hadith criticism, accompanied by an analysis of the hadith text through reference to the opinions of jurists and hadith commentators. The findings show that the hadith was transmitted by Ibn Khuzaymah, al Faqihi, Abd al Hamid, al Bukhari, Abu Dawud, and others. Nevertheless, the hadith is considered weak due to the solitary narration of Abdullah ibn Muslim ibn Hurmuz, who is regarded as weak and lacks corroboration, leading to the conclusion that kissing the Yemeni Corner is not a legislated practice.
