Along with the rapid development of the Hadith Studies Program at STDI Imam Shafi’i Jember—both locally, nationally, and internationally—the need for a scientific publication platform focused specifically on the field of hadith transmission studies has become increasingly urgent. Amid this growing academic enthusiasm, it is regrettable that the number of journals dedicated to the study of hadith transmission—an instrumental science that serves as a foundation for understanding and researching hadith—is still relatively limited.
For this reason, Jurnal Al-Khabar was established as a scholarly forum to accommodate academic contributions from scholars, researchers, and hadith studies enthusiasts, whether from within or outside the academic environment. The journal’s primary focus is to develop and disseminate scientific studies that specifically relate to the science of hadith transmission. Its scope includes topics such as hadith takhrij (referencing), hadith terminology (mustalah), studies on hadith scholars, hadith sources and references, as well as region-based hadith research.
This journal is expected to become a credible academic reference and contribute to enriching the body of knowledge in the field of hadith, as well as support the vision of advancing hadith studies in a deeper and more contextual manner in the modern era.
