Sejarah Perkembangan Kodifikasi Sunah dan Bantahan Terhadap Syubhat Orientalis

Abstract

ABSTRACT

Not a few say that hadith is not an argument or a guideline in Islam, because there are many false Hadith that are spread. There are also those who say that the hadith is not the words of the Prophet ﷺ but the writings of third-century scholars because there is no unmistakable evidence that the hadith has been written since the time of the Prophetﷺ. With this, it is necessary to research the development of the codification of the sunnah from the first to the third century by explaining valid postulates about it, and examining in detail the syubhats related to the codification of the sunnah. This study uses a qualitative research method based on literature research. Based on data obtained from reliable sources, the results of this study state that (1) the codification of the sunnah has existed since the time of the Prophet ﷺ because of the evidence that shows this. (2) The codification of sunnah continues to develop by going through several significant stages. (3) As for the syubhat raised by orientalist figures, it cannot be justified because the evidence they use is not stronger than the evidence that states the codification of the sunnah since the time of the Prophet ﷺ. And, because they do not understand in detail about the Arabic language, the history of Islamic civilization, and the methods of hadith scholars in criticizing hadith.

ABSTRAK

Tidak sedikit yang mengatakan bahwa hadis bukanlah hujah ataupun pedoman dalam agama Islam, karena banyaknya hadis palsu yang tersebar. Ada pula yang mengatakan bahwa hadis bukanlah perkataan Nabi ﷺ melainkan karangan para ulama abad ketiga karena tidak adanya bukti yang jelas bahwa hadis sudah tertulis sejak zaman Nabi ﷺ. Dengan ini perlu adanya penelitian mengenai perkembangan kodifikasi sunah sejak abad pertama hingga abad ketiga dengan memaparkan dalil-dalil yang valid mengenai hal itu, dan juga meneliti secara mendetail mengenai syubhat-syubhat yang berkaitan dengan kodifikasi sunah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif yang berbasis penelitian pustaka. Berdasarkan data yang didapatkan dari sumber yang terpercaya, hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa (1) kodifikasi sunah sudah ada sejak zaman Nabi ﷺ karena adanya dalil yang menunjukkan hal tersebut. (2) Kodifikasi sunah terus mengalami perkembangan dengan melalui beberapa tahapan yang signifikan. (3) Adapun mengenai syubhat yang dilontarkan oleh para tokoh orientalis tidak bisa dibenarkan karena bukti yang mereka pakai tidak lebih kuat dari bukti yang menyatakan adanya kodifikasi sunah sejak zaman Nabi ﷺ. Dan juga karena mereka tidak memahami secara mendetail mengenai bahasa arab, sejarah peradaban Islam, dan metode para ulama hadis dalam mengritik hadis.
