Plagiarism Screening Policy
The editorial board of Al-Majaalis: Jurnal Dirasat Islamiyah is committed to upholding the highest standards of scholarly integrity. Plagiarism in any form is considered a serious academic offense and is strictly prohibited.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is defined as “the use or close imitation of the language and ideas of another author, presented as one’s own original work.” This includes both intentional and unintentional plagiarism.
Plagiarism Detection Tools
All manuscripts submitted to Al-Majaalis will be checked for similarity and potential plagiarism using the Turnitin application. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author for revision.

Originality Requirement
All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review by any other journal. Any material reproduced verbatim from other sources must be clearly indicated following citation rules, and direct quotations must be referenced in the footnote. -
Citation Requirement
If the author borrows ideas from other authors, even if they are further developed, proper citation rules must be followed. Direct quotations from any source with fewer than four lines should be enclosed in quotation marks, with the source indicated in a footnote. Direct quotations longer than four lines should be indented with the source indicated in a footnote. -
Levels and Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected, the Editorial Board will take appropriate action based on the extent of plagiarism as follows:a. Minor Plagiarism
If plagiarism occurs in a small portion of the manuscript—such as a sentence or short paragraph—taken without proper reference to the original source, the author will be warned and asked to revise the manuscript by providing correct citations and ensuring proper paraphrasing.b. Moderate Plagiarism
If plagiarism occurs in a significant part of the article—such as an entire paragraph or substantial data—copied without proper citation, the manuscript will be rejected and the author will be warned. The manuscript may not be resubmitted to Al-Majaalis.c. Severe Plagiarism
If plagiarism occurs in most of the manuscript—such as data, formulations, or ideas—copied without proper citation, the manuscript will be rejected and the author will be banned from submitting future manuscripts to Al-Majaalis.

Al-Majaalis: Jurnal Dirasat Islamiyah holds academic integrity in the highest regard. The editorial team reserves the right to retract any article found to violate these guidelines. Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts comply with these standards.
